Waco Tribune-Herald-October 18, 1986
The obituary notice regarding the death
of Jack McCollum, funeral services, and
immediate surviving family members ap-
peared on Saturday, two days after the
murder on October 16, 1986.

The obituary notice made no mention
as to the cause of Mr. McCollum's
death, just that it was in Leon County.

Jack McCollum, age 68, was president
of Allied Tire Co. Inc. He was
a Mason and member of Waco's
Columbus Avenue Church of Christ.

Survivors included his wife, Marguerite
of Waco, mother, Bess McCollum
of Waco, daughters Marilyn (Ken)
Tadlock
of Waco, Penne (Mike)
Mathews
of College Station, Ann
(William) Cox
of Axtell, and
Rochelle (Maxia) Farris of Hunts-
ville
, sisters Lucy (Jesse) McMurry
of Meridian, Mary Frances (Burton)
Meador
of Waco, and brother
Robert McCollum of Waco.

Understandably, family members may
find it too difficult to discuss aspects
of their loved one's death. However,
after 17 years without closure on
Jack McCollum's murder, some may
want to share information, or have
already shared some with friends.

Your Information-should
you have or come across

please report the information
to the Texas Rangers

the official site.

Finally, e-mail us and
tell us who you contacted
and the nature of the in-
formation supplied so some
follow-up work can be done.
Of particular interest is
information authorities say
they already have, or that
which they say is irrelevant to the case, however obscure
it may seem to you
.
