Texas Rangers
This law enforcement agency had and
continues to have a primary role in
the murder investigation. This State
law enforcement agency seems to be
unique among all the other states in
the U.S.

History-The Texas Rangers have
a long history, steeped in the colorful
history of Texas. For those interested
in the legendary history of this unique
law enforcement agency, please visit
the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and
Museum
web site, or if ever in Waco,
visit the actual facility on I-35 near
Baylor University on the Brazos River.

Legends-one of the legend's about the
Texas Rangers is that they "always
get their man."
In this murder case,
the legend has not held true, at least
not 17 years after October 16, 1986,
the date of the murder!

Structure-The Texas Rangers are now
a department in the Texas Department
of Public Safety, headquartered in Austin,
the location of the Texas State Capitol.
"Companies" of Rangers are in cities
scattered throughout the State of Texas.
Company "F" is located at the Hall of
Fame and Museum in Waco, and had been
responsible for the murder investigation
since it occurred. The agency now has an
Unsolved Crimes Investigation Team
located in San Antonio. The case is on
a "suspended investigation" status,
meaning "if there is more information
they will continue with the invest-
igation" per Ranger HQ feedback re-
ceived October 24, 2003.

The Investigators-Ranger De-
tective Bob Connell of Waco's
Company "F" was the initial
investigator on the murder.
Ranger Connell is now re-
tired from the Rangers,
with the murder unsolved.

Since it is unknown at this
time if anyone in the Rangers
agency is investigating the
murder, should you have in-
formation about the murder,

however obscure it may seem,
please report the information
to the Texas Rangers at the
headquarters in Austin. The
Texas Rangers e-mail address
can be used to submit your
information.

The Sheriff's Office in
Leon County should also be
provided the information.
Click on "Sheriff" link at
the official site.

Finally, e-mail us and
tell us who you contacted
and the nature of the in-
formation supplied so some
follow-up work can be done.
